Netflix Selects Perfect Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season

Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, popular member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Mr. 2. Bon Clay can use their power to change into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role reinterpreted as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the source material and animated series.

Escola joins a number of new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to life, such as chief Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.

Even though Bon Clay is a important part of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Their mix of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
