Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to lead Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club is an option. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure which brought continental glory and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, has since taken on roles overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

They secured the league title in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would embrace the possibility that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he told the podcast host: “I stated I will never coach a different club on English soil. Therefore should it be the Reds...absolutely. In theory, it could happen.”

“Being 58, which suggests I could make the decision later on, it's uncertain. Must I choose now? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding what circumstances would have to unfold to tempt his return to the dugout, he revealed he isn't eager toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “No longing for management; I don’t miss standing in the rain through long matches; I'm glad to skip interviews multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, however, dining out alongside the squad talking freely, that’s nice. Success was frequent so there was often a very good mood at the club. I can still hear the captain's chuckle vividly recalled to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended for his successor, praising him for the tweaks that won the league last term. The team has suffered a string of losses across various tournaments post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the idea that it might signal the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. The French striker, superb talent. They have a strong balanced team. You don’t have to worry over the club, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of Jota, a player he signed in 2020, and its impact on Liverpool. The forward lost his life in a vehicle collision with his brother this past summer.

“Can you substitute a person like him? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the squad missing him. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A devastating blow for the entire squad also. Not a single person might employ it as an excuse but it is the situation. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Handling this emotionally is not easy. Unbearable.”
