Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American performer Finn, who appeared in popular television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, according to news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
